Shoe charger developed in India
In a world that has become highly dependent on technology, sometimes the biggest challenge is to keep up with the ever changing innovations.
When heavy snow triggered a power shutdown in the Indian city where Rajesh Adhikari lived in, an idea for an invention struck him.
Adhikari's plan was simple, to take the energy generated as a person walks or runs and use it to charge mobile phones and other low-power devices.
What he did was he installed a spring and dynamo system into a pair of running shoes. This would convert kinetic energy and generate current for the charging process.
His design can even power up small light bulbs.
Adhikari is not alone in pursuing so-called shoe chargers as a Kenyan previously developed another design using crystals.
However, Adhikari still has bigger dreams for his own invention.
With aspirations of a wireless design, he might just change the way commuters power up while on the go.
